FAQ: Finances
  1. Where does the money go?

We do our best to avoid increases in the annual membership fee, with discounts for additional players in a family. A large proportion of the fee goes to the uniforms, hats and trophies which are prized by the players. The League also pays for balls, field equipment, field maintenance, insurance, utilities and other fixed expenses.

  2. Where does the money come from?

Membership fees are important, but don’t come close to covering all our expenses. Local businesses sponsor teams; fundraisers and snack stand operations provide important income. We also seek grants from local businesses, corporations, and foundations for capital improvement projects. Many improvements at Gimbel Park in the last few years have been funded this way, without incurring debt or drawing on taxpayer funds. Another innovative program is the sale of commemorative medals, designed specially for OYRLL by a renowned engraver.
